On the Monday 20th, the Investment Intergroup convened leading voices from the European Union to explore a pressing question: How can long-term investment be strategically mobilized to address Europe’s housing crisis, ensuring that social and affordable housing remains accessible, sustainable, and financially viable for citizens?
On 14 April 2026 at the European Parliament in Brussels, the Investment Intergroup convened a high-level roundtable on the EU Inc. and its potential to unleash investment across Europe’s start-up and scale-up ecosystem.
Chaired by Pascal Canfin and organised in partnership with France Digitale, Allied For Startups and Invest Europe, the discussion brought together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and institutional representatives for a focused and solution-driven exchange.
On the 24th of March, the Investment Intergroup workshop, co-organised with France Industrie, at the European Parliament: how can the EU Emissions Trading System evolve into a robust long-term investment tool that effectively supports the European industry decarbonisation?
Chaired by Pascal Canfin with the participation of Emma Wiesner, the workshop convened Alexandre Saubot, Philippe Kehren, Corinna Grajetzky, Alberto Toril Castro, David Valenti, Eric Bourdon, Victor van Hoorn, Dorthe Nielsen and Jorine Zandhuis — representing industry, private and public investors, and academia — for a frank and substantive exchange on the future direction of the ETS for the decades ahead.
On the 24th of February, the Investment Intergroup brought together top-level voices from our partner organisations at the European Parliament for one question that matters more than ever: Is the Savings & Investments Union actually on track?
We were honoured to hear a keynote from Commissoner Maria Luís Albuquerque , before a unique roundtable moderated by Nicolas Veron — one that brought the full picture into the room: policymakers, regulators, banking and capital markets representatives, and industry leaders, all speaking frankly around the same table: Eelco van der Enden (Accountancy Europe), Adam Farkas (AFME), Laura van Geest (Autoriteit Financiële Markten), Gorka Gonzalez (Bpifrance) and Alessandra Atripaldi (European Commission)
Chaired by our MEP Co-Chairs of the Intergroup: Stine Bosse, Dirk Gotink and Isabel Benjumea, the conversation spanned the full investment chain — from retail savings and pensions to market infrastructure and supervision.
We were pleased to welcome over 150 participants at our event on “Investing in European Defence” which took place the Wednesday, 4 of February.
The event, chaired by MEP Thomas-Pellerin Carlin, brought together key public and private decision-makers to discuss the financing, industrial, and strategic levers needed to strengthen Europe’s defence readiness. Among the speakers were :

We were pleased to welcome fourteen representatives from of our partner organisations to discuss and exchange views with MEP Pascal Canfin, shadow rapporteur on the Sustainable Finance Omnibus, yesterday, at the European Parliament.
Only few minutes before the last shadow meeting, the Intergroup provided its partners the valuable opportunity to gain a better understanding of the Parliament’s progress on the Omnibus, while also giving them the opportunity to express their concerns and share their questions with a key stakeholder.

We were pleased to welcome over 150 participants at our launch event, which took place on Tuesday, 13 May at the European Parliament.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the “Attracting Investment to Ensure a Competitive and Sustainable European Union” Intergroup. This new Intergroup will foster dialogue on the many dimensions of investment and support the EU’s competitiveness agenda throughout the 2024– 2029 legislative term.
The Bureau of the Intergroup, elected last 18th February, is composed of six Co-chairs from three political groups (EPP, S&D, and Renew): Dirk Gotink (EPP), Isabel Benjumea (EPP), Thomas Pellerin-Carlin (S&D), Annalisa Corrado (S&D), Stine Bosse (Renew) and Pascal Canfin (Renew).
